When I first visited Uluru, I was spellbound not only by the monolith itself, but also by the surrounding landscape and the atmosphere of stillness and solitude. Armed with my field recording equipment, I was hoping to capture some sort of natural sounds that I could bring back with me, to help remind me of that special place. Most of what I brought back to the studio was the sound of the wind, ever present and haunting.
If you’ve never visted the Uluru or the Red Centre, then I hope that this recording tempts you to. It truly is a mystical experience. If you have visited, then I can only hope that the music on this album helps remind you of that special magic.
