During the 1990s, I spent a lot of time travelling around Australia, in search of capturing nature sounds to feature on my earlier albums. No matter where or when I travelled, every area was an inspiration.
There I was, in many of this vast land’s most beautiful spaces, rising before dawn… watching the most incredible sunrises, witnessing nature at its most peaceful.
Bushland Dreaming wasn’t a planned album. It was the result of returning home filled with images and emotions, longing to pack my bag, jump into my 4WD and set off again.
There is a powerful magic in the bushland areas that one cannot help but be affected by. A serenity and majesty that I have not felt anywhere else.
Bushland Dreaming was an early recording for me and when I was asked to re-release this album I played with the idea of completely re-recording it also. Yet once I started doing that, I knew I was taking the risk of missing that original emotion and inspiration.
So here it is, in its completely original form. Perhaps this CD doesn’t live up to the latest sonic audio capabilities. But for me the music still rekindles those amanzing memories of some of Australia’s most beautiful places. I hope you also enjoy.
